Local group Gay and Lesbian across Down has announced details of its Eurovision Song Contest Party. The Party will take place at the Groomsport Boat House on Saturday 29 May 2009 from 8pm to midnight.

All lesbian, gay and bisexual people plus their friends and family and encouraged to come along, watch Eurovision live and get into the European spirit by bringing along a dish from the country their choice. Anything is welcome from Irish Stew, Israeli salad to Swedish meatballs and Italian pasta.

Admission will be free of charge. People attending will have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and participate in a sweep stake.

Commenting on the event, Andrew Muir from GLAD stated “We are all looking forward to Eurovision 2010. The Eurovision Song Contest is always a hoot. With the Groomsport Boat House only two miles from Bangor we are confident that many people will wish to attend this fun event with plenty of free parking and an amazing array of continental cuisine guaranteed”.

Concluding, Andrew stated “GLAD’s Annual General Meeting will take place shortly before the party at 7.30pm, also at the Groomsport Boat House. All lesbian, gay and bisexual people are welcome to attend to find out more about GLAD and how to get involved”

The Groomsport Boat House can be found at the Harbour Road, Groomsport by turning left at Groomsport Inn towards “Harbour”.
